San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer kicked off the first full day of Comic-Con today, calling the city for the next four days, "a playground full of heroes, villains, aliens and zombies". "All welcome to spend a lot of money while they're here in town" he added.
Mayor Faulconer called Comic-Con San Diego, now in it's 49th year, a "one of a kind" event that's about community bringing people together to celebrate what they love.
The event showcases the best of our city, generating more than 140 million dollars, Mayor Faulconer said.
