The aggressive Cranston Fire, which investigators have determined was arson, continues to burn in the San Bernardino National Forest. Firefighters, including volunteers from San Diego, are trying to get a handle on the 4,700 acre fire near Idyllwild.

It broke out Wednesday just before noon and quickly exploded. More than 3,000 people in communities including Idyllwild, Mountain Center and Lake Hemet were ordered to evacuate as the fire crept closer to homes. At least five structures have been destroyed. The fire is just 5-percent contained.

A Temecula man was arrested for starting the fire. 32-year-old Brandon McGlover was taken into custody on suspicion of intentionally setting multiple fires in Riverside County, including the Cranston Fire. McGlover is in jail on five counts of arson.
