From a strip club...to a church. That may be the plan for a building in the Midway District. The Body Shop, a strip club that operated since the 1960's, has been bought by the Rock Church. The business has been closed since December and now the church will re-purpose it.
The pastor says the idea is to transform the neighborhood, and while it's unclear what the building will be used for at this time, they do know it'll never be an adult entertainment site again. The hope is to remove the big sign saying "Nude Girls," which many say is unwelcoming as people come into the Midway and Point Loma area.
The megachurch has five locations in San Diego County, including their main campus on Rosecrans, just about a mile from their new property.
