First Flu Death Of Season In San Diego County

The county is reporting the first flu death of the season.

A 52-year-old woman with underlying medical conditions passed away Friday, November 2nd.

The county says it doesn't know at this time if the woman had gotten a flu shot.

Last years flu season was severe in San Diego County, with two deaths reported at this time last year, and 342 deaths during the year.

There have been 155 flu cases this year, compared to 383 this time last year.

Everyone six months and older is urged to get a vaccination.
