We first told you about it a few days ago. Megachurch pastor John Gray buying his wife a $200,000 Lamborghini, which he announced over social media to celebrate the couple’s eighth wedding anniversary.
A former associate pastor at popular TV evangelist Joel Osteen’s 17,000-seat, Houston-based Lakewood Church, and now leads a charge congregation at Relentless Church in Greenville, South Carolina.
And ironically, the criticism he’s been getting has been relentless from Christians and non-Christians alike.
Pastor Gray has defended himself by saying that none of the money for the Lamborghini came from c church funds but from books, a reality TV show and says he's been wise with savings and investments.
In a YouTube video he posted that you on KOGO at Night this week, Pastor Gray says he’s a husband first, not a minister and then says: “I’ve been patient my whole life. I’m 45, I’m supposed to wait until I’m 70 to live my best life and my best life is seeing my wife happy.”
The story of Pastor Gray comes as we celebrate the birth of someone who did a lot of preaching himself when he was on this earth, telling us to serve others over self and reminding all of us that “.."For where our treasure is, our hearts will be also.”
