Adult visitors to Downtown Disney will find it's become a bit more magical as the San Diego based Ballast Point brewing company is set to open a location at the Anaheim property.
Ballast Point, one of numerous local brewers that have made San Diego a destination for craft beer aficionados is opening its Brewpub January 16th.
The company plans to use Downtown Disney's first on-site brewery location to test new beers on visitors. In addition to the brewery, the location will have a full restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating offering various menu items including salads, entrees and kids meals.
Ballast Point is best known for its popular IPA's such as Sculpin and Fathom but has expanded to produce numerous other beers. From its beginnings in 1996 with one location, it has grown to become one of the largest brewers of craft beer in the nation. The Downtown Disney location will be it's ninth tasting room.
San Diego has scores of local breweries, many that have grown from their humble beginnings to become readily available for beer lovers nationwide in bars, restaurants and grocery stores.
According to the Brewers Association which ranks breweries nationwide, three companies including Ballast Point are ranked among the nation's top beer companies based on sales. The other San Diego based companies that made the list include Stone Brewing Company and Green Flash.
