An investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding a shooting Monday morning in an East Village apartment that left a 29-year-old man with life threatening injuries.
Officers responding to reports of gunfire at a residential complex in the 900 block of Market Street found the unidentified man suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body shortly before 6 a.m., according to San Diego police.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries, which were considered life threatening, Lt. Anthony Dupree said.
Homicide detectives were called in to investigate.
