San Diego Padres Sign MLB Free Agent Manny Machado

The San Diego Padres are reported to be signing star free agent MLB player Manny Machado.

Machado, a star infielder for the Dodgers, has reportedly agreed to a 10-year, $300 million deal with the Padres according to multiple reports. As of Tuesday morning, Padres executives had not confirmed the news.

The reported deal between the Padres and Machado would be the biggest free agent contract in baseball history, overtaking the 10-year, $275 million deal that Alex Rodriguez signed with the Yankees after the 2007 season.

Machado spent the second half of the 2018 season with the L-A Dodgers, after being acquired in a trade over the All-Star break. He hit 13 homers in 66 games for the Dodger after hitting 24 home runs with the Baltimore Orioles. Machado played in all 16 of the Dodgers' postseason games, batting .227 with three home runs and 12 RBI.
