San Diego Man Wanted for Counterfeiting

A reward up to one thousand dollars in on the table for anyone with information leading to the arrest of a man wanted for using counterfeit money.

Investigators say 28-year old Mario Chavez targets cell phone sellers on sites like Offer Up and Craigslist. They say Chavez contacts the seller through the app or by phone and then pays for the device with counterfeit cash.

Chavez is known to use force if confronted by a seller and he's also wanted on a probation violation.

Mario Kevin Chavez is a Hispanic male, 28-years-old, 6’3” tall, weighs 295 lbs., and has brown hair and brown eyes.
