You know things have changed when the school shooting in Colorado Tuesday barely makes it onto the list of top headline stories on Google’s news page.
You know things have changed when the story of shooters at a school not far from Columbine where one student is killed and 8 others are wounded is the 6th story on the headline list, with the royal baby number one followed by everything Trump, and then the Colorado school shooting.
And you know things have changed when the cable news channels within a couple of hours of when the shooting in suburban Denver was first reported, they were back to politics, politics, politics and didn’t even carry the whole news conference of the sheriff in Douglas County Colorado
And talking to people right after the shooting, those in law enforcement were not surprised and some listeners said they were not shocked.
Even with it happening just 10 days after the deadly synagogue shooting in Poway, there was usualness to the reaction, that it was just another school shooting.
If things have changed, they have clearly changed in a bad way.In less than three weeks, we’ve seen deadly shootings in North Carolina, in Poway and in Highlands Ranch Colorado.
When will the next one be?How will we react?One thing’s for sure. Things do have to change if we want to change the things that are going on.
