San Diego Braces for Hundreds of Thousands of Visitors

If you notice a lot more people in San Diego over the week or so, that’s because there will be a lot more people here.

It’s mid-July and that means we have people from all over coming to San Diego.

With the three day Pride weekend starting today along with the first weekend of the annual Over the Line Tournament with the second weekend a week from now…and with Comic-Con officially starting this coming Wednesday, and the Padres in town for a three game homestand at Petco Park, get ready Uber and Lyft drivers for lots of business.

Same goes for all the restaurants, clubs and tourist attractions as well. It’s mid-July, the busiest time of the summer in San Diego every year.

And if you’re one of those who don’t like crowds all that much, just be aware if you’re planning to be anywhere in the downtown area from the Embarcadero to the East Village, as well as Hillcrest and Balboa Park and Mission Bay too…with the Over the Line crowd filling Fiesta Island. And there's also the opening of the Del Mar Thoroughbred Racing season this coming week.

For San Diego’s Tourism Authority, this month is happy month, with several hundred thousands of people here for one or more of these events over the next ten days.

And the tourism folks say that all adds up to hundreds of millions of dollars for the local economy. And with all the people coming to town it gives the city a chance to show off why we still call San Diego America’s finest.
