What’s the answer? Where is it going to come from? And how do we make it happen?
Important questions, a few days after the latest mass shooting in the U.S.In the Northern California town of Gilroy, the home of a Garlic Festival and now one of the many cities across America that have witnessed a mass shooting.
And as we find out more about this particular killer in this particular shooting and what his motive was, we want answers. After every mass shooting, we want answers.But they never seem to come.
Oh, people talk about answers.From stricter gun laws and even banning all guns…to making it easier for everyone to have guns so everyone can protect themselves.
And there are calls for mental health reform and calls for something to be done about policing social media and calls for more security, and yet nothing much seems to happen.
Politicians say they have answers but they can’t seem to ever agree on what they are and how to make them happen.
Instead, politicians and those involved in the gun control debate harden their positions and the calls for answers to mass shootings end…until the next mass shooting.
It was just three months ago that a gunman opened fire in a synagogue in Poway, a house of worship, where a young girl was wounded.This week a gunman opened fire at a food festival, a family event where two kids were among those who died.
For the sake of our children and the generations ahead, it’s time to find some answers and finally do something.
