The Changing Weather and Climate Change on Student Protest Day

Summer is officially on Monday when Fall begins.

While we’ve already been having cooler nights and milder days, when it turns to Fall here in Southern California, there’s usually nothing too dramatic about it, because we are sure to still get some hot weather in the weeks ahead.

Back in the East and Midwest, Fall weather usually happens more quickly and it usually starts cooling down.

But then these days when it comes to the weather, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of usual. And with a global student protest going on today about climate change, the changing weather is a timely thing to talk about.

As a story in the USA Today puts it, “Sure, it's the middle of hurricane season. But this is ridiculous.”

The National Weather Service says the six named tropical storms churning all at once this week in the Atlantic and the Pacific tied a record first set in 1992.

National Hurricane Center forecaster Eric Blake saying this week on Twitter, "they are forming like roaches out there."

But a Weather Channel meteorologist says that while that’s “not something that you see all the time, it’s not unheard of, either.

In other words while there may be a debate about who and what causes climate change, there’s no debate about the weather ALWAYS changing.
