Resolutions Some San Diego Leaders Should Make for 2020

It’s New Year’s Eve and that means many of us are making, or least thinking about making, a resolution for the new year.

Given the fact that it’s easier to suggest a resolution that someone else should make than keeping your own, it’s time for some resolutions that some of the well-known people in the news should make for 2020.

Quarterback Philip Rivers for instance should make a resolution to kiss goodbye to the owners of the now L-A Chargers just like they kissed goodbye to San Diego and go play for another team with better owners and better players.

Outgoing Mayor Kevin Faulconer should make a resolution to bike across the length of California and pedal away from politics for a while.

State Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez should make a resolution to hire an independent contractor to fix the flaws in AB 5.

And her husband, Supervisor Nathan Fletcher should make a resolution to never do any freelance work.

Registrar of Voters Michael Vu should make a resolution to stock up on lots of coffee because this election year, with an early Primary and a huge election in November will mean lots of long nights.

Every eligible voter in San Diego County should make a resolution to vote and if not, then make a resolution to not complain.

Bob McElroy at the Alpha Project and Deacon Jim Vargas at Father Joe’s Villages should each make resolutions to keep doing what they’re doing even when they get weary.

And everyone in San Diego should make a resolution to be grateful for being able to live in what remains America’s Finest City
