Marriage and family counselors will tell you that how spouses argue when they disagree is sometimes more important that what they’re arguing about.
H-R counselors will say that when managers or employees disagree about something, there is way to talk it through without making nasty accusations against each other.
And that’s why what the Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court said last night to those arguing the in the U.S Senate in the impeachment trial of the President is something that should have gotten the attention of politicians from both political parties.
As the one who is presiding over the impeachment trial, Chief Justice John Roberts' scolding of Democrats and Republicans should get the attention of all of us.
For the Supreme Court's Chief Justice to tell them to “avoid speaking in a manner and using language that is not conducive to civil discourse” was a big deal.
It comes at a time when Americans in general are arguing a lot about the president, the politicians and the political parties. And with it being an election year it’s probably…and sadly…only going to get worse.
So when you find yourself getting into arguments over politics at work, at home or at school, the advice from the Chief Justice of the highest court in the land may come in handy.
