2 New COVID-19 Deaths But Hospitalizations and Cases Trending Down

San Diego County health officials Monday reported only two new deaths from the COVID-19 virus in the county with the total remaining at 211.

The health officials say that represents about four-percent of the total number of coronavirus cases since the outbreak began which stands at 5,946. There were 110 new positive cases reported Monday..

Public Health Officer Dr. Wilma Wooten says that while the trend continues downward but urges everyone to continue to follow the guidelines including social distancing, face coverings, and frequent hand washing and sanitation.

County Supervisor chair Greg Cox says the Board of Supervisors meets on Tuesday when they will act on a plan that meets Governor Newsom's new loosened requirements to allow counties to move more quickly in opening more businesses.
