STUDY: A Cure for Getting Through the Pandemic

Are Americans more divided than they were before the coronavirus pandemic began?

It’s a question you hear a lot about in the news and on talk radio.

With the debate and arguing going on about the presidential election, and about when to close and when to open the economy and about whether to wear or not to wear face masks and with the racial tensions and protests going on, it would be easy to think that.

But a new study offers a much needed reminder about us as Americans.

About 2,000 people were surveyed and the results showed that Americans are now more willing than ever before to give back and help people.

The survey found that more than 55% of Americans say they are more charitable to other people than six months ago. And that they have “paid it forward” and helped a complete stranger at least once.

And 78% of those in the survey said they always try to give back to their local communities. With 75% saying they usually feel “a lot better” about themselves after donating money or performing a good deed.

During these pandemic times in which we all live, it’s easy to become grumpy, depressed and or even angry.

But this study gives us hope that while there’s no vaccine yet for the virus, there is a cure for feeling better and getting through it and that’s showing kindness to others.
