WATCH: State Extends Southern California Regional Stay at Home Order

The three week regional stay at home order for Southern California including San Diego County was officially extended Tuesday.

California Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly held a briefing Tuesday and announced, as expected, that San Diego County and the other counties in the Southern California Region will remain under the stay-at-home order that first went into effect on December 6th. Dr. Ghaly said the region will remain under the order until the region-wide ICU capacity is up to 15-percent or higher. The ICU capacity in the Southern California region as of Tuesday was at 0%. The state's four week projection as of Tuesday indicates that the order could remain in effect for several weeks yet, but it will depend on the ICU capacity, the daily case rate, the transmission rate and the rate of ICU admissions.
