Gov. Newsom Tours San Diego's Vaccination Super Station Downtown

California Gov. Gavin Newsom visits the County's drive-through Vaccination Super Station next to Petco Park where he was scheduled to provide a briefing on vaccinations with City and County officials.

The Governor's visit to San Diego comes after the state issued new guidelines for churches and other places of worship that allow indoor services but at a maximum capacity of 25-percent. The new guidelines were released one day after the U.S. Supreme Court, in a 6-3 ruling, lifted California's total ban on indoor services under the two most restrictive of the state's color-coded COVID tiers. San Diego County is in the Purple Tier, the most restrictive. The justices said the state can limit capacity during indoor worship services to 25-percent and can also restrict singing and chanting. The new state guidelines do not contain any limitations on those activities.
