Downtown Super Vaccination Station Closed Temporarily; Other Sites Open

The County's largest vaccination super station is not expected to re-open until Wednesday due to delays in new shipments of the Moderna vaccine.

The vaccination site next to Petco Park closed Saturday, the same day the county opened eligibility for vaccinations for teachers, law enforcement, and food workers to get the coronavirus vaccine, the third time in February that the site had to close due to vaccine shortages. A county spokesman says it will be closed through Tuesday, March 2nd,

U-C San Diego health officials say the appointments were being scheduled starting on Wednesday. Those individuals affected are being notified through the county's MyChart system with new times. Second doses are the priority.

The county spokesman says vaccinations for teachers are not affected because those are being administered through a different system. Any of the county-run vaccination sites currently administering Pfizer vaccines will also not be impacted.
