$1 million Of Illegal Pot Seized At Warner Springs Farm

San Diego County Sheriff's detectives raided an illegal marijuana cultivation site in a North County community on Thursday, March 18.

Local authorities seized plants and products worth an estimated $1 million, reports FOX5.

According to a press release from the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, their Narcotics and Gangs Division served a search warrant in the 29000 block of Chihuahua Valley road in Warner Springs around 8:00 A.M. on Thursday.

"The warrant was part of an investigation by Sheriff's Detectives of illegal marijuana cultivation and sales in San Diego County," they said in the release. "Detectives seized 1,191 live marijuana plants and 64 pounds of processed marijuana at the Warner Springs location with an estimated street value of nearly $1,000,000."

Investigators believe the marijuana found at the Warner Springs site was meant to be sent to unlicensed Southern California weed shops.

California Water Board investigators also assisted in the raid and found multiple environmental-related crimes occurring on the property, said the sheriff's department.

Illegal pesticides, dangerous chemicals, and other hazardous substances are often found at unlicensed marijuana sites, according to Sgt. Mark Knierim.

Authorities detained two men at the scene, ages 48 and 63, who are now facing felony charges for running the illegal operation, reports FOX5.
