If you were surprised by the weather when you went outside on Tuesday, you're not alone. Within a day, San Diego County has gone from hot, dry, summer sun to heavy humidity and monsoon moisture. This crazy, unusual weather will be with us for a few days.
The National Weather Service posted the following notice:
The monsoon will bring chances of thunderstorms to the region, especially in the mountains and deserts, Tuesday through Thursday. But--some coastal areas could get a thunderstorm as well. Here's the precipitation probability map for Tuesday, with higher chances Wednesday.
On Tuesday the agency warned of thunderstorms:
Thunderstorms are in the forecast this afternoon for the mountains & deserts, especially for the #Mojave Desert. These storms could bring heavy winds and frequent lightning!
