After being reported missing nearly three years ago in northern California, a teen was found wandering around over 700 miles away. According to CNN, authorities in Summit County, Utah, had received reports of a young man walking around with a shopping cart for several weeks. When they finally encountered him, he was at a gas station on April 9, in the greater Park City area.

In a Facebook post, the Summit County Sheriff's Office said they responded to the gas station after a "concerned community member" reported seeing a man sleeping there. Deputies offered the man to sit inside one of their vehicles to warm up and began researching who he could be. After a dispatcher began looking through pages on the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children website, they came across a missing poster for Connerjack Oswalt.

Oswalt, who is now 19, was reported missing in September 2019 from Clearlake, California, an 11.5-hour drive from Summit County. “Deputies began making phone calls and were able to make contact with Connerjack’s mother,” Summit County Sheriff’s Lt. Andrew Wright told CNN in an email. They confirmed his identity after his mother told authorities about a distinctive birthmark on his neck, which they found.

Wright told CNN Oswalt's stepfather and grandfather went to Park City to identify him in person and to be reunited.
