The second fatal home fire in the East County this week was reported early Friday morning.
One person died after a fire erupted at a home in the Bostonia neighborhood near El Cajon at 1:05 a.m. Friday. The home is located near the intersection of First Street and East Bradley Avenue.
Authorities say there were four people in the home, three of them made it out safely, but a fourth, described as an older woman, died in the fire. A dog escaped harm. One firefighter was injured.
The San Diego County Sheriff's bomb and arson team was investigating the cause of the fire.
Man Who Died in Santee Fire Identified
Authorities have identified the 57-year-old man who died in a mobile home fire in Santee on Monday as Vincent Bello. Firefighters responded to a 911 call at the mobile home at the Mission Del Magnolia park on Woodside Avenue around 2:25 a.m. and found the unit engulfed in flames.
Bello’s 28-year-old son was able to escape without injury after being awakened by his father shouting his name, but Bello was unable to get out. His body was found inside the home after crews knocked down the fire.
