A Man is Dead Following An Officer-Involved Shooting in La Jolla

An officer-involved shooting in La Jolla Saturday morning has left an unidentified man dead.

According to the San Diego Sheriff's Department, San Diego Police Officers were called out to an area near 5495 La Jolla Blvd Saturday morning about 7a.m. The department had received several reports of a man armed with a knife, causing a disturbance.

The man was ordered to drop the knife but began walking towards officers. He was shot. He died later at a local hospital. No officers were injured in the incident. The suspect has not been identified.

Streets were closed off in the area while the shooting was investigated. They have since been re-opened.
