The Federal Bureau of Investigation has released new photos and updates on the investigation into the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump at a July campaign rally in Pennsylvania. The shooter, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was killed by a Secret Service sniper after firing at least eight shots, one of which wounded Trump's ear and killed a rally attendee.

Despite extensive analysis of Crooks' online activity, the FBI has not yet established a definitive motive for the attack. According to Kevin P. Rojek, the FBI special agent in charge of the Pittsburgh field office, Crooks' online activity indicates "a mixture of ideologies," with no definitive leaning towards the left or right.

The Washington Post reports that Crooks made over 60 online searches about Trump and President Joe Biden in the month leading up to the attack.

The FBI has also found no evidence of a foreign entity directing Crooks to carry out the attack or of any co-conspirators. However, the investigation revealed that Crooks had searched for information on both the Republican National Convention and the Democratic National Convention, suggesting that the Trump rally was a "target of opportunity."

The FBI has conducted nearly 1,000 interviews, served numerous search warrants, issued dozens of subpoenas, and analyzed hundreds of hours of video footage as part of the ongoing investigation.

The agency also released photos of Cooks' rifle, the explosive devices in his trunk, and the air conditioning unit he used to climb onto the roof of the AGR building.
