When it comes to retirement for our veterans, California ranks as one of the worst states in the country.
California ranks 40th according to a new report from financial site WalletHub. San Diego has one of the largest concentrations of veterans in the country, but the report finds when it comes to cost of living, job opportunities and the quality of veteran's health care, we need to do better.
South Carolina, New Hampshire and Maryland top this year's list. All three offer a strong job market, affordable living and better tax friendly policies for veterans. Oregon ranks last.
