Chula Vista native Jessica Sanchez, who's nine months pregnant, has been named the winner of America’s Got Talent - season 20.
She was named the winner last night as she delivered a moving performance of Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga’s “Die With a Smile”, earning a standing ovation and the one million dollar prize.
Jessica first appeared on America's Got Talent in 2006 as a 10-year-old contestant.
A Filipino-American, Jessica was born in 1995 and raised in Chula Vista's Eastlake community.
She first rose to fame as the runner-up on American Idol season 11. She has been a recording artist since and soon to become a new mother to a baby girl.
In July 2025, during her return to America's Got Talent, she revealed that she has been married to Rickie Gallardo since 2021 and was pregnant with their first child.
