A U.S. Border Patrol agent is indicted on federal civil rights charges in a 2022 shooting in Calexico.
Prosecutors say agent Marcos Javier Andrade fired multiple shots at an unarmed 19-year-old driver during a traffic stop attempt on July 11th, 2022.
The teen was hit several times but survived. The indictment alleges the teen did not pose a threat.
Andrade faces two federal charges and is expected to be arraigned next week in San Diego. Officials say the case stems from an indictment unsealed Thursday.
