LA MESA, CA – On April 30, 2026, at about 7:58 AM, the La Mesa Police Department received a report regarding an assault victim located at 8274 Parkway Drive in La Mesa.
The victim, a 38-year-old woman believed to be experiencing homelessness, was found unconscious and bleeding from the head. Officers rendered first aid until paramedics arrived, and the victim was transported to a local hospital with a severe head injury. The victim is still in critical condition.
Investigators believe the attack occurred sometime in the early morning hours of April 30th. The relationship between the victim and the suspect is not known.
A person of interest depicted in the included picture is believed to be a Hispanic male with facial hair, wearing a blue “San Diego” sweatshirt. He was wearing blue pants and white shoes.
