The USS Lake Erie has returned to Naval Base San Diego in what is likely it's last time.
According to the Stars and Stripes website, is scheduled to be decommissioned on September 30th. The cruiser left in late July of last year, spending most of its deployment in the Caribbean Sea as part of operation Southern Spear - a U.S. military campaign combatting narco-terrorism.
The USS Lake Erie is a 33-year-old Ticonderoga-Class guided missile cruiser. It arrived back in San Diego on Saturday.
