32 Collectible, Hand-Painted Guitars Up For Auction By San Diego Charity

Jason Mraz, Tom DeLonge and 30 local artists have customized Fender guitars that are now up for auction by ArtReach San Diego, a local nonprofit organization. ArtReach was gifted brand new Fender guitars for renowned artists to transform into playable artwork through a generous donor. The custom-designed guitars feature a variety of electric and acoustic guitars as well as basses.

More than 30 guitar art pieces are available for purchase through an online auction from September 1st through October 3rd, 2021. All guitars will be on display at Mission Fed ArtWalk in the Piazza della Famiglia on October 2nd and 3rd. Bidding starts as low as $500 for the one-of-a-kind art guitars. Interested bidders can view the full selection of guitars and bid HERE.

Musicians Jason Mraz and Tom DeLonge are among the participants for this year’s art auction. Singer-songwriter Jason Mraz has designed a Fender Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar titled “Use Your Super Powers For Good.” Tom DeLonge, of the American rock group Angels and Airwaves, designed a Gretsch Electromagnetic “Rat Rod” Guitar titled “To The Stars.”

Other participating artists in the Guitar Art Auction consist of several renowned artists, some participants at ArtWalk San Diego, supporting partner of ArtReach. Notable artists include Jeremy Sicile-Kira, Jen Duran, Hanna Gundrum, Nicholas Danger, Norm Daniels, and many more.

The guitars were skillfully and professionally re-assembled by James Hood Guitar Repair, located in Oceanside and Escondido, CA. Their talented team worked to ensure each guitar is a playable and perfectly finished piece of art.
