New Health Order Requires Customers To Give Name & Phone Number

As some San Diego County businesses are allowed to offer indoor services once again, a new public health order will require customers to provide their name and phone number. The order, which went into effect on Tuesday, was created to help contact tracers get their information they need to connect with individuals who may have been exposed to COVID-19 if an outbreak is connected to a particular establishment.

The types of businesses affected by this order include:

  1. Hair Salons & Barbershops
  2. Personal Care Services
  3. Gyms & Fitness Centers
  4. Restaurants, Wineries, Bars, Breweries, and Distilleries (where meal is provided)

The order is in effect until further notice, and businesses are required to keep collected names and phone numbers on hand for at least three weeks. The order also indicates that restaurants are required to collect the name of each guest, and at least one phone number when serving a group of people.
