Line of Supply Ships Now Extends Down To San Diego From Long Beach

There are so many ships waiting to unload supply containers that the line to enter the Long Beach and Los Angeles ports now extends down the coast to San Diego waters.

Recent hazy conditions have made it difficult to see, but Encinitas resident told News 8 that he could see them on a clear day when using a telescope. He can also see their lights at night.

The website Vesslefinder.com confirms that there are shipping vessels in local waters while also showing the congestion in the primary ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles where roughly 90 ships are waiting to unload,

Challenges, including lack of warehouse employees and truck drivers as well as added COVID protocols that are compounding the backlog and although the hours of operation have been extended, experts predict that the issue will not be resolved this year and is likely to extend through the first part of 2022.
