Parking Citations Resume In San Diego On October 1

When statewide stay-at-home orders began on March 16, the city of San Diego suspended parking enforcement. Although they have attempted to reinstate parking regulations multiple times, continued COVID-19 shutdown orders have stalled the effort.

The city is now ready to enforce parking regulations. Effective October 1, parking violations will be met with a warning in the form of a courtesy notice, but after a two-week grace period, the city will begin issuing and enforcing official citations on October 15.

The city asks residents to get back into the habit of adhering to parking regulations, including moving your vehicle when street sweepers are scheduled to clean in your neighborhood.
