San Diego has a new millionaire after Wednesday night's multi-state Powerball lottery drawing. The ticket sold at the Chevron station on 6949 Linda Vista Road, included five winning numbers. Even without the Powerball number, the California Lottery confirmed that the ticket is worth $2,768,497.
Other tickets with 5 winning numbers but missing the Powerball number, were sold in San Jose, CA, Colorado, Georgia, Michigan, New York, Texas and Virginia.
Wednesday's draw included the numbers 4, 19, 23, 25, 49 and the Powerball number was 14. With no 6-number tickets being sold, what was a $550 million Powerball jackpot is expected to reach $640 million by the next drawing on Saturday, January 16.
According to the Powerball website:
The Powerball® jackpot is now in Top 5 territory! The jackpot stands at an estimated $640 million ($478.7 million cash value) for the Saturday, January 16 drawing. If won, it would be the 5th largest jackpot in Powerball game history and the 9th largest jackpot in U.S. Lottery history. This is the highest the Powerball jackpot has been since March 2019.
45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands all participate on the Poweball game, and the odds of winning are about 1 in 293 million.
