What You'll Experience at Comic-Con@Home This Week

Soon after Comic-Con organizers announced that there would not be a Comic-Con in 2020 (due to the Covid-19 pandemic), the group began working on an "@Home" version of the convention that is taking place July 22 - 26, 2020. Participation is FREE and will include over 350 panels, dozens of activities, a costume competition, challenges, and Souvenir Book.

Here's what can you expect from Comic-Con@Home 2020:

  • Over 350 separate panels spread out over all five days of the event. You can watch them at your leisure, or create your own schedule using MySCHED.
  • The 2020 Souvenir Book is available as a FREE, downloadable PDF (note: it's a large file).
  • Dozens of Fun Books, tutorials, and activities are already available for download FREE on the Comic-Con site.
  • Comic-Con@Home has created 4 Challenges that will help you interact from home and share via social media. The Challenges include: Sidewalk Art, Cosplay, Achievements, and SuperVolunteer.
  • A Virtual Masquerade Costume Competition will go live on Tumbler Friday evening (July 24), anyone can watch the Competition but the 50 contestants have already confirmed.

Check out the numerous panels available to watch each day with the links below. Each panel will contain a link; when you click on that link, you’ll launch another page that has the panel video embedded on it … that video will be available on the date and time listed. When it’s available, simply push play and watch! It’s that simple.

Wednesday, July 22 | Panels are scheduled every hour from 3pm to 6pm

Thursday, July 23 | Panels are scheduled every hour from 10am to 6pm

Friday, July 24 | Panels are scheduled every hour from 10am - 7pm

All the panels will also be available on the Comic-Con YouTube channel, so you can also access them there when you subscribe at https://www.youtube.com/user/ComicCon

Comic-Con 2021 will return to the San Diego Convention Center from July 22-25, 2021. David Glanzer, spokesperson for the organization, said “We eagerly look forward to the time when we can all meet again and share in the community we all love and enjoy.”
