What to Celebrate When You Don't Feel Like Celebrating

With the Memorial Day weekend behind us, the unofficial start of the summer season is underway.

With COVID restrictions eased, more people will be travelling despite the higher gas prices and air fares. Schools ending for the summer and graduations going on mean families heading out on vacations and most everyone wants and needs a summer of not being cooped up like the last couple of summers due to the pandemic.

While the virus is still out there, and we still should be careful, especially those older and more vulnerable. most people are anxious to get back to normal life this summer.

Of course the news reminds us every day that it would be nicer if normal wouldn’t include the bad things that happen.

And that’s why we’re telling you about the what the San Diego Blood Bank is doing today, a day long blood drive, to keep the blood supply up at a time when it takes a seasonal dip.

With blood being the gift of life and having gone through the loss of life during the pandemic, it can help us remember that life itself is a gift, and that we don’t decide to be born, someone else does that.

And during a time when it’s easy to get down about some of the things that go on, we can still celebrate that gift.
