How Two Teens Inspire Us Not to Complain

Have you complained about anything lately? Let’s face it, we all complain from time to time.

But there are some people who are inspiring examples of how to not complain even when faced with life changing obstacles. Two recent examples of people like that were featured in news in recent days.

One is an 18-year-old ballerina who was born with no arms. That’s right no arms and she does ballet. Vitoria Bueno lives in Brazil but she amazed millions of people in the U.S. this last month when she performed on America’s Got Talent, finished 2nd and won the hearts of everyone who saw her do what she can do.

Then there was a story this week about a 13-year-old boy middle school basketball player who was born without legs. That’s right no legs and he plays basketball. Josiah Johnson lives in Louisville Kentucky, tried out for the team and made it.  When asked why he didn’t play wheelchair basketball, he told a reporter that would be too easy.

Talk about inspiring stories about inspiring people. No complaining from these two young people. And there are many others like them who when told they could never do something, found a way to still do it anyway.

As a former president of the United States once said more than a 100 years ago, “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” An inspiring quote from Teddy Roosevelt.
