What Couples Argue About Behind Closed Doors

News of one particular study of human behavior is sure to make for some interesting discussions among couples.

A survey of 2,000 couples found that 70 percent of them said they argue over the bathroom they share. Over half of the couples say they argue about each other’s bathroom habits up to three times a week.

One of the biggest pet peeves couples have is leaving the toilet paper roll. Others include leaving the toilet seat up and hanging toilet paper the wrong way. According to a third of the survey, their partner does way too much relaxing in the bathroom and hogs the shower.

Interestingly, the study of these couples found that men are actually spending more time in the bathroom than women. Men average about 13 minutes in the bathroom while women average 11 minutes.

What both men and women in the survey agree on is that time in the bathroom helps them de-stress.

And based on another survey in the news the other day, couples could be finding a way to not make the bathroom something to argue about and hurt their relationship.

This survey reported that separate bathrooms and even separate bedrooms have become more popular in recent years. It may mean you have to buy more toilet paper, but it certainly is better than ongoing bathroom battles.
