Some New Research on Texting You Should Know About

Maybe you’ve heard this new term. But a new survey is out about it . The term is “Fexting.” It means having an argument with someone through texting.

This new survey polled more than one thousand people and found nearly 80 percent of those questioned admitted to engaging in arguing via texts.

And they found that this “fexting” leads to detrimental effects on relationships.

About 60 percent say they have found that “fexting” actually prolonged arguments rather than resolving them quickly.

Why do they choose to argue via texting? Nearly 50-percent say they like the time texting gives them to compose thoughtful responses, instead of saying something in a phone or personal conversation in the heat of the moment without much thought.

Many saying they preferred the convenience of texting to convey their points because they can do it quickly and avoid in-person discussion.

But nearly 40-percent admit to reacting impulsively by engaging in text arguments.

This survey should prompt us to think about how we communicate with others and how we can do it more effectively.

And maybe think first before you hit the send button on some of your texts.
