What You Might Need to Put on Your To Do List

A couple of recent studies may not be a surprise, but they may be signaling need to do more of what most of us don’t do enough.

The headline on one study reads: “Half of Americans consider themselves modern day workaholics.”

The headline on the second study says: “Three in five millennials say life more stressful now than ever before.”

Coincidentally and probably fortunately a new report at Time.com this week offers a possible reason for why there are so many workaholics and so many stressed out millennials.

Time talked to experts who say Americans are not getting enough real rest, that is, the kind of rest that really can make a difference.

They say people who get the right kind of rest, their quality of sleep is better, they have less chronic pain, they tend to live longer, and their work productivity is greater.

An author in this report by Time, has written a book entitled “Rest: Why You Get More Done When You Work Less.”

And other experts say it’s important to get the right kind of rest for not only your body but for your mind, even during a busy day.

All of this suggests that maybe more of us need to put more rest on more of our to do lists.
