Feeling a little more stressed out or more tired these days?
A recent study suggests says most Americans are not getting enough sleep
The study tracked the sleep of Apple Watch users and found that, on average, Americans get less than six and a half hours of sleep each day.
But experts in this report say getting seven hours or more of sleep every might is crucial for your health….with medical research having linked not enough sleep to anxiety, depression and dementia.
Says one of the medical experts in this report, “Even if you work out and eat well, a lack of enough sleep you’re not going to get the gains you want”.
This study also found that if you live on the western edges of your particular time zone where it stays lighter a little longer, you tend to sleep less.
Of course there are a lot of reasons we don’t get enough sleep, among them the stress and problems of the day, all the worrying we do about this and that and the distractions of having a smart phone by your bedside.
This study suggests that…just like preparing for a workout or preparing a healthy meal, doing the things before you go to bed that help you sleep better and longer, is a smart thing, before you turn out the lights.
