It sure has been a lousy way to begin the spring season here in California, hasn’t it?
Not the weather, a little cooler and a little wetter are not bad, but what’s really bothering everyone is the price of gas.
You’ve heard the reports here on the radio and you see the TV cameras at gas stations pointed at drivers who are expressing their frustration and even anger as they fill up their gas tanks. And you see the headlines on line, about the rising gas prices in the last couple of weeks, like the one from the San Diego Union Tribune that reads. “Ouch!”…with an exclamation point at the end!
The average price is now getting closer and closer every day to the 5-dollar mark. That’s the AVERAGE price, which means those price signs at many gas stations already several cents ABOVE 5-dollars a gallon.
The reasons for the hike in gas prices as we are now into Spring? The usual, right?
A couple of refineries in California off line or undergoing repairs and of course the annual switch from making winter-blend gas to summer blend gas which the experts say automatically adds another 15-20 cents to the gas price.
Of course, there is little we can do about it except driving less and just saving up for the right of Spring in California when we pay more for gas…which can actually give you ‘gas’.
