Several temperature records were set and others nearly set.
Ramona hit 104, breaking the record of 101 from 2018. Campo got to 106, also breaking the record from 2018 of 105. Borrego Springs reached 116 breaking a 24 year old record of 114. Ocotillo Wells reached 122 degrees.
The National Weather Service in San Diego says temperatures on Friday were expected to drop by just a few degrees. A Heat Advisory for the inland valleys and mountains and a Extreme Heat Warning for the deserts were in effect until 8 p.m. Friday.
