If you’ve been out shopping the last few days, you’ve experienced the usual just before Thanksgiving rush at the grocery stores and big box stores like Costco.
And you also probably experienced how it’s costing you more for many of the traditional items for the Thanksgiving meal.
According to the U.S Department of Agriculture outlook, wholesale turkey prices are up 40 percent from last year, thought a lot of stores cut the prices you pay for turkey to get you into their stores to buy all the other items you need for the meal, with some of those prices higher. The USDA report says the price of vegetables, stuffing, cranberries, rolls, pies and baking ingredients are all up this year.
And many shoppers say they are paying higher prices for some other foods including beef products as well as paper products for the holiday.
So, a lot a shoppers, as many usually do, look for bargains and sales and shop smartly to save some money.
But when you sit down with family and friends for the Thanksgiving meal this year, the time to worry about the higher prices is over.
And instead remember that it is time to be thankful for all that you have, including each other.
