A Call for Attacking an American Problem

It’s not something you ever want to see happen around the holidays. And something you never want to see happen any time of the year.

But sadly, as we have seen time after time after time, in our country, even after repeated calls and cries to do something about it, mass shootings still happen.

The shooting in Stockton California, two days after Thanksgiving where a child’s birthday celebration turned into a nightmare, with three kids killed, was an especially hard one to see in the news just as the holiday season had begun.

And while it got news coverage here in California and nationally, it was somewhat over shadowed by stories about holiday travel, winter snow storms, and of course politics and partisan attacks by both parties.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of those responsible.

The sheriff in Stockon says the animals who opened fire on the child’s birthday party will be tracked down.

It would be a good thing to see that kind of determination among our political leaders to firmly and finally do something besides attacking each other and instead attack an American problem that tragically begs for a solution.
