What We Know and Should Know About the Flu Season

It’s winter season across the country and no matter if you live in a cold climate or a warm climate like San Diego, it’s also and always the virus season.

But the new report about the flu suggests that winter’s virus season is looking like it could be a bad one.

The report from the DC says doctors and ER visits for flu-like symptoms, fevers, sore throat and body aches have reached their highest level in nearly three decades. At least 45 states, including California, are experiencing high to very high levels of flu activity.

And the CDC report says the numbers are likely to rise in the coming weeks.

You may have noticed more people coming down with flu like symptoms, among co workers, family members and friends. Maybe you’re even one of them.

The report from the CDC coincidentally comes along during the same week the federal government’s health agency announced its recommendation to cut back on childhood vaccinations.

While the COVID pandemic that started six years ago is over, its impact on attitudes about flu vaccines and other shots for other diseases, still linger and so apparently will the cases of the flu.
