It sure seems like there are more drivers speeding on the freeways. In an informal survey, it was notable that every person asked if they’ve noticed it, they all said yes.
It’s been reported in the past about there having been an increase in speeding after the COVID lockdowns…when a lot of people were working from home and schools and restaurants shut down.
With not much traffic on the freeways, there were some drivers who decided to speed on the more open roads.
The pandemic is gone but many drivers say they still see a lot of speeding going on.
It can be pretty frustrating and sometimes even frightening when a speeding driver whizzes past you or is speeding in and out lanes.
And that includes motorcycle riders who are lane splitting at too high a speed.
That can make you really feel pretty uneasy when you’re already in heavy traffic and a motorcycle is all of a sudden speeding past you by what seems like inches from your side view mirror and even clipping it as they go by.
Having had that happen not that long ago, it does make you want to do something about it. Maybe someone can come up with a post pandemic vaccine to prevent speeding.
