Border Patrol officials say 53 people were arrested Thursday after crossing illegally at Border Field State Park at the San Diego-Tijuana border.
Several videos posted on social media capture the throngs of people stream through the border. “It’s crazy; I didn’t know this could happen on livestream,” said Andy Martin, a YouTuberwho filmed the breach up close.
In Martin’s video, a crowd of people is seen gathering next to a fence before an individual appears to cut it open with a pair of scissors.
Border Patrol officials said two groups rushed the border simultaneously from different ends of Border Field State Park.
Officials said 53 people were arrested for crossing illegally. Customs and Border Protection officials said they do not believe anyone got away.
